What is non-emergency medical transportation?

Non-emergency medical transportation helps passengers travel to medical appointments, treatments, therapy, care facilities, and other approved destinations when emergency medical care is not required.

Is Bee Safe Transportation an ambulance service?

No. Bee Safe Transportation provides non-emergency transportation and does not replace emergency medical services. Call 911 during a medical emergency.

How do I request transportation?

Submit the transportation request form or call 248-404-7800. A representative will review the trip details and confirm availability.

Does submitting the form confirm my ride?

No. A request is not confirmed until a Bee Safe representative contacts you and provides confirmation.

How far in advance should I request transportation?

Transportation should be requested as early as possible. Availability depends on the date, time, route, passenger needs, and available vehicles.

Can I request same-day transportation?

Same-day requests may be reviewed, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

Can I schedule recurring transportation?

Yes. Recurring requests may be submitted for treatments such as dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation, and outpatient therapy.

Does Bee Safe provide hospital discharge transportation?

Hospital discharge transportation may be requested by the patient, family, caregiver, case manager, or healthcare facility.

Can a facility submit a request for a passenger?

Yes. Hospitals, clinics, assisted-living communities, nursing facilities, case managers, and other authorized organizations may submit requests.

Can a family member request transportation?

Yes. An authorized family member or caregiver may submit a request on behalf of a passenger.

Which areas does Bee Safe serve?

Bee Safe currently lists service in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Michigan. Contact us to confirm availability.

Does Bee Safe offer long-distance transportation?

Regional and intercity transportation may be available depending on route, scheduling, passenger needs, and vehicle availability.

Can a companion travel with the passenger?

Companion transportation may be requested. Availability and any related requirements will be reviewed during confirmation.

Can passengers travel with oxygen equipment?

Passengers traveling with personal oxygen equipment should provide the relevant details during the request process. Bee Safe must confirm whether the trip can be accommodated.

Is bariatric transportation available?

Bariatric transportation requests are reviewed based on passenger needs, equipment requirements, vehicle capacity, and availability.

Does Bee Safe provide wheelchair transportation?

Passengers may identify wheelchair-related needs in the request form. Bee Safe must confirm whether appropriate transportation is available for the requested trip.

What payment methods or insurance plans are accepted?

Payment and billing arrangements depend on the trip and requester. Contact Bee Safe Transportation to discuss private pay, facility billing, or transportation-benefit options.

What happens if my appointment time changes?

Call Bee Safe as soon as possible. Schedule changes are subject to driver and vehicle availability.
